Chicks That Fix
Chicks That Fix was a free, monthly drop-in session, run by Brightwater Motors throughout 2021, for women looking to learn the basics of car mechanics and maintenance.
The popular workshop programme was featured by various media outlets including TVNZ’s Breakfast via a live cross to the studio. The workshops raised hundreds of dollars for charity through koha invited on the night and were attended by women from all over the Nelson Tasman region.
Nibbles and wine were provided with thanks to Brightwater Vineyards.
The regular Chick That Fix programme has since been replaced with a series for all titled Mech 101 (for everyone), launched mid-2022.
Brightwater Motors are looking to hold Chicks That Fix workshops in 2022 on an adhoc basis.
